Fraunhofer IGP Featured on Radio LOHRO: Research to Listen Back
As part of the science radio series "Wellenlänge Wissenschaft" (Wavelength Science), our colleague Viktoria Nikolova from Fraunhofer IGP was a guest on Radio LOHRO. The one-hour live broadcast has now been published in the media library and is available for listening.
As a materials tester, lab technician, and head of the technical laboratory, Viktoria Nikolova provided fascinating insights into her daily work at Fraunhofer IGP. The discussion covered topics such as what a materials tester does, the skills required for the role, and how she contributes to applied research on a daily basis.
She is the first interviewee in the series with a vocational training background who works in science. Her practice-oriented career path exemplifies the strong connection between research and technology.
Viktoria is now embarking on a new professional journey: alongside her work at the institute, she is studying polymer sciences. In doing so, she combines practical expertise with advanced scientific education.

"Wellenlänge Wissenschaft" (Wavelength Science) is a monthly science program on Radio LOHRO, produced in cooperation with the association Rostock denkt 365° e.V., the University of Rostock, and regional research institutions. The goal is to present current research in an accessible and engaging way to foster public dialogue.
Experience it live
On 09.08.2025, our colleague Viktoria Nikolova, along with Luzie Lemmrich, will also be on stage at Science@Sail in Rostock – another format that brings science to the forefront.
