The Robot Day 2025 was organized by Fraunhofer IGP in collaboration with the Rostock Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism, and Labor of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The event provided insights into the latest developments in the field of "Robots in Metal Processing."

Research for sustainable agriculture: The Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP presents innovations in the fields of "Water Treatment" and "Thermal Spraying" at AGRITECHNICA in Hanover (Hall 17, Booth B15) from November 9 to 15.

In a joint effort, the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering (IGP), led by Prof. Wilko Flügge, and the Chair of Production Organization and Logistics at the University of Rostock, headed by Prof. Jan Sender, are exploring an innovative research field: humanoid robotics for industrial applications.

As part of the science radio series "Wellenlänge Wissenschaft" (Wavelength Science), our colleague Viktoria Nikolova from Fraunhofer IGP was a guest on Radio LOHRO. The one-hour live broadcast has now been published in the media library and is available for listening.

At this year's Materials Engineering Colloquium (WTK) at TU Chemnitz, Fraunhofer IGP participated with several contributions in the field of thermal spraying – with great success.

This year, the Fraunhofer IGP’s in-house Innovation and Technology Award, known as the IGP Award, is being presented to EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH (EEW SPC). “Fraunhofer IGP and EEW SPC have maintained a close collaboration for many years, ranging from factory planning to welding technology. This award is intended to further recognize and honor this partnership,” explained Prof. Wilko Flügge, Director of Fraunhofer IGP. He personally presented the award on March 17, 2025, at the company’s location in Rostock’s overseas port. The award was accepted by Dr. Robert Staschko (Structural Engineer) and Andreas Dörge (Head of Welding Technology).
